SUSTAINABILITY COMMITMENT
An eco-responsible event integrates the principles of sustainable development at every stage of its organization right from the start of planning. It aims to reduce the negative impact on the environment and increase social and economic benefits. Any event organization, regardless of its size, mobilizes a lot of resources for the success of the event and produces a negative environmental impact. However, bringing together a large number of participants in a given period is also an opportunity to raise awareness of the challenges of sustainable development. The congress is committed to contributing to a more sustainable development through the reduction of environmental impacts, as well as the integration of social and solidarity dimensions.
The organizers of the LHA 2019 congress have implemented eco-responsible actions in order to minimize the negative impact of the congress on the environment and to create social benefits.
These actions include:
Venue selection
Selection of a congress venue, La Cité Centre de Congrès de Lyon, committed to improving its environmental performance, including two major issues: waste management and energy efficiency.
Accommodation
Selection of hotels located near the congress venue and committed to sustainable development.
Transportation
Encouragement to use public transportation, in order to reduce gas emissions.
Raise of awareness
Exhibitors and participants can also participate in the sustainability approach during the Congress.
Solidarity
Engagement to donate any surplus (food and/or other items) to charities and organizations of the social sector and the protected and adapted sector.
Communication
Use of digital support and effort to reduce paper. The final program will be printed on PEFC certified paper.
